Annie McVey

Annie is a theater director based in Los Angeles. A native New Yorker, Annie attended NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts, where she studied directing and acting at Playwrights Horizons Theater School. She later became a member of Playwrights’ Directing faculty, teaching alongside Department Chair Mary B. Robinson and Obie-winning Director Anne Kauffman.

Since moving to Los Angeles, Annie has directed plays for the Inkwell Theater Company, IAMA Theater Company and others. Recent credits include Leslye Headland’s Assistance (IAMA) and The Ohio 4th (Inkwell). In 2010, Annie began collaborating with J. Michael Feldman on his riotous puppet show/comedy Fairy Tale Theatre: 18 & Over. For the last three years, the show has performed to sold-out crowds at Upright Citizens Brigade, Groundlings, ACME Comedy Theater, and The Matrix. Annie also co-produces the Inkwell Theater Development Lab, which workshops new American plays through an intensive rehearsal process.
